ADVANCED EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Learn how to apply your basic training to support disaster survivors at the local, state, national, tribal, and territorial levels, conduct disaster site inspections, implement emergency protective measures, and repair disaster-related damage. And, you’ll learn how to stop damage before it starts with hazard mitigation measures taken during the recovery process.

Habilidades

Students in Advanced Emergency Management are trained in the following subject areas:

  • Learn how to visit damaged facilities and ensure incident-related damage is accurately recorded.
  • Conduct virtual site inspections.
  • Establish and maintain positive working conditions with disaster survivors and communities.
  • Fulfill requests for supplies, equipment, personnel, teams, services, or commodities.

There is potential for immediate employment once you graduate. All Advanced Emergency Management Training students will have the opportunity to apply for many positions with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and state and local agencies prior to completing the training.

Requisitos

Antes de entrar al programa de , los estudiantes deben:

  • A written recommendation from Job Corps center personnel
  • Tener al menos 18 o 21 años de edad. (varía por estado)
  • Terminar un programa completo de carrera técnica básica de Job Corps.
  • Terminar el programa central básico con calificaciones aprobatorias en todos los exámenes escritos y de rendimiento.

As a Job Corps student, you will have the opportunity to earn credentials in your training area that may lead to greater employment opportunities, higher wages, and promotions.

Students who complete a program in the Advanced Emergency Management training area can earn nationally recognized credentials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
