CNA students at Job Corps

Academics

In addition to career training, Weber Basin Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

GED/High School Diploma

One of our top goals at Weber Basin Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at Weber Basin can enroll in our GED program.

Weber Basin High School

Our students have the opportunity to earn their high school diplomas from Weber Basin High School which is located on our campus. Weber Basin High School training is self-paced, and classes are small so that students get one-on-one assistance from our state-certified teachers. Weber Basin High School is administered by the Davis County School District and is accredited by the Utah Board of Education.

Academic Olympics

Each year, several Weber High School students are selected each year to compete in the Academic Olympics. Students can participate in local, regional, and national level competitions against other Job Corps students at centers all across the United States.

College Program

Students may enroll and be eligible for grants to attend college. College level classes are taught at our center by Utah State University teachers accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. Many of our graduates continue their college education after leaving Job Corps.
